Who the heck is Kathleen Summers and why a website?

A glimpse into my writing journey
Welcome. Here’s a little about me and my journey here. I’ve had a long career, some of it interesting and challenging—some…not so much. A thousand years ago, I washed floors in a castle in Nuremberg (as one does). It paid my youth hostel rent. A few years later, I managed a sizable photo-finishing business in the London, Ontario area, long before cell phone cameras. I went on to manage a national chain of a variety of retail stores in airports and train stations and had the opportunity to see Canada. I managed the eastern division of a courier/trucking company. Envision a fort in a treehouse with a sign saying “No girls allowed.” That was that job. Not fun. Sticking with the castle theme, I managed a castle in B.C. Wonderful job.
There were a few forgettable jobs in between, but those were the highlights. My husband and I also owned a travel agency and travelled extensively.
We’ve had three wonderful rescue dogs. Tiger, a goofy Dutch Shepherd, Princess, a Samoyed, true to her name, and our current girl, Suzy. She’s an Australian Shepherd at the front and a mystery at the back. She’s from Texas and fills our days with long walks and dog love. She's also a shedder and fills our socks, clothes, and house with dog fur. You’ll hear more about her exploits later. She had us at the freckles. (See her 'daddy long legs' picture)
I retired, started writing, and have been having a blast ever since. I’m self-published, a journey unto itself. There are millions of us out there who have written one or several books. Some of them gain traction; most dribble along in oblivion. More about that later. This is a website for dribblers and wannabe stars. We’re just us, good writers with different goals, but mostly to entertain our readers. I also want to introduce my books to a broader audience. I write about mystery, murder, dangerous journeys and general mayhem. Each book is an adventure. Welcome to my imaginary world. You can find Invisible Rider and Go Away on Amazon.ca and Amazon.com, as well as Kobo and Barnes and Noble. I’m Kathleen Summers on my book covers. Join me on this next big step.
